Litecoin is one of the oldest and most established cryptocurrencies — a UTXO-based, Scrypt proof-of-work chain designed for fast, low-cost payments. SwiftNodes serves the standard Litecoin Core JSON-RPC interface plus a Blockbook address/index API, so you can query balances, UTXOs, and transaction history without running your own node.

About Litecoin

Litecoin shares Bitcoin's UTXO model but targets a ~2.5-minute block time (four times faster than Bitcoin) and uses the Scrypt hashing algorithm for proof-of-work. Its supply caps at 84 million LTC, with the block subsidy halving every 840,000 blocks. Litecoin has activated SegWit and MWEB (MimbleWimble Extension Blocks) for optional confidential transactions.

The node exposes the Litecoin Core JSON-RPC methods you expect — getblock, getrawtransaction, sendrawtransaction, estimatesmartfee, and so on. Because Litecoin Core has no built-in address index, address-level queries (balances, UTXO sets, and history for an address or xpub) are served through Blockbook, which SwiftNodes runs alongside the node.
