The Infura Alternative That Doesn’t Punish You for Growing
Infura's daily Compute Unit caps can kill production traffic mid-day, and its chain list still skews Ethereum-first. SwiftNodes is flat-rate with no daily caps, supports 75+ chains, accepts card or crypto, and requires no KYC at any tier.
The short version: SwiftNodes is a multi-chain blockchain RPC provider with flat-rate monthly pricing, no KYC, card or crypto payments, and 75+ supported chains. If you’re on Infura today and your usage is unpredictable, KYC is friction, or you want one provider for both EVM and non-EVM networks, SwiftNodes is built for that. Try the free tier →
Feature-by-feature: SwiftNodes vs Infura
| Feature | Infura | SwiftNodes | Better for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Per-request via daily Compute Units; daily caps mean queries fail when limit hits | Flat monthly rate, rate-limited by RPS not by daily caps | SwiftNodes |
| Free tier | 6M Compute Units / day (resets daily) | 2 HTTP req/s, no daily cap | SwiftNodes |
| Supported chains | ~30 chains, Ethereum-heavy | 75+ chains incl. Solana, Sui, Aptos, Cosmos, Polkadot, Bitcoin family | SwiftNodes |
| Payment methods | Credit card | Card or crypto (ETH, BNB, USDT, USDC) | SwiftNodes |
| KYC requirement | Required at higher tiers (ConsenSys parent) | Never, on any tier | SwiftNodes |
| Ethereum RPC quality | Excellent — Infura is a foundational Ethereum infra provider | Excellent — load-balanced upstreams with automatic failover | Tie |
| Archive node access | Available on higher tiers | Available on Ethereum, BSC, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, Avalanche | Tie |
| IPFS gateway | Yes — historic strength via ConsenSys | Not offered | Context |
| Linea / Consortium L2s | Native first-class support (ConsenSys product) | Linea supported as a standard chain alongside others | Context |
| Prepay discounts | Annual discounts on Core/Developer/Team tiers | 5% off 6 months, 10% off 12 months on every plan | SwiftNodes |

Why developers switch from Infura to SwiftNodes
Daily compute caps cause production outages
Infura's free tier resets daily, and even paid Core/Developer tiers have daily Compute Unit ceilings. A traffic spike at 4pm UTC means RPC calls start failing for the rest of the day until midnight. SwiftNodes uses RPS rate limits, not daily caps — your bursty traffic in the afternoon doesn't kill your queries in the evening.
Beyond Ethereum: real multi-chain support
Infura's roots are in Ethereum, and the chain list reflects that — strong on Ethereum, OK on a handful of L2s, weak or absent on non-EVM ecosystems. If your stack reaches into Solana, Cosmos, Polkadot, or Bitcoin-family chains, you're already managing multiple providers. SwiftNodes consolidates 75+ networks under one key and one bill.
Privacy and KYC
Infura's ownership by ConsenSys has, over time, brought more compliance friction to higher tiers. SwiftNodes is independent and structurally KYC-free — sign up with a wallet or email PIN, pay in crypto or by card, and never hand over an ID document.
When Infura is still the right call
If your team is already on a ConsenSys-stack workflow (Truffle, MetaMask Snaps, Linea-first development, IPFS pinning through Infura's gateway), the integrated story is valuable and SwiftNodes isn't a drop-in for those non-RPC pieces. If your need is genuinely just raw RPC and WebSocket for Ethereum and friends, the cost structure and chain breadth at SwiftNodes are better.
Frequently asked questions
Can I replace Infura with SwiftNodes for Ethereum RPC?
Yes — both expose standard JSON-RPC over HTTPS and WebSocket. Replace your Infura URL with https://rpc.swiftnodes.io/rpc/eth?key=YOUR_API_KEY (or the wss:// variant) in your ethers.js / viem / web3.py / hardhat config. No code changes beyond the endpoint string.
What's the difference between Infura's Compute Units and SwiftNodes' rate limits?
Infura meters by Compute Units — different RPC methods cost different CU amounts, and exceeding your daily cap causes calls to fail. SwiftNodes meters by requests-per-second; as long as your peak RPS fits in the plan, daily/monthly volume is unrestricted. Easier to reason about, especially for variable workloads.
Does SwiftNodes support Linea, the ConsenSys L2?
Yes — Linea is a fully supported chain on SwiftNodes. Use slug `linea` (e.g. https://rpc.swiftnodes.io/rpc/linea?key=...).
What about ITX (Infura Transactions) or Filecoin endpoints?
SwiftNodes does not currently offer a managed transaction relay equivalent to ITX, and Filecoin is not in our chain list as of 2026-05. If those are critical to your stack, Infura remains the better fit for those specific features.
How do I confirm endpoint latency before committing?
Use the free tier — sign up with an email or wallet, grab the endpoint URL for your chain of interest, and measure latency from your own region. Real-time latency data for all chains is published at /status.
