About Polygon Amoy

Amoy is the testnet for Polygon PoS. It replaced Mumbai in 2024, when Ethereum's Goerli testnet that Mumbai checkpointed to was shut down; Amoy checkpoints to Sepolia instead.

Amoy runs Bor like Polygon mainnet and, like mainnet, enforces a minimum priority fee of 25 gwei. Transactions with a lower tip are rejected, so read eth_maxPriorityFeePerGas rather than hardcoding a tip from another chain.

What is the Polygon Amoy chain ID?

80002, or 0x13882 in hex.

What happened to Mumbai?

Mumbai was retired in 2024 and replaced by Amoy. Point anything that still uses chain ID 80001 at Amoy (80002).

Why is my Amoy transaction underpriced?

Amoy requires a priority fee of at least 25 gwei. A 24 gwei tip was rejected with "transaction gas price below minimum: gas tip cap 24000000000, minimum needed 25000000000". When we measured, eth_maxPriorityFeePerGas returned 28.125 gwei, which passes.

Does Amoy support the safe block tag?

No. Requesting the safe block returned "safe block not found". Use finalized, or count confirmations on latest.
