About ApeChain
ApeChain launched on mainnet in October 2024 at ApeFest Lisbon, backed by the ApeCoin DAO with Yuga Labs, Caldera, Off Chain Labs and others. It is an optimistic L3 on Arbitrum One; in July 2026 it moved from an AnyTrust data availability committee to posting transaction data to Arbitrum One as calldata. Bridged ETH, stablecoins and APE can earn native yield through rebasing balances.
ApeChain is EVM-compatible and uses the Arbitrum Nitro RPC interface, so standard Ethereum and Arbitrum tooling works. Because bridged yield-bearing assets rebase, indexers and accounting code should not assume token balances only change on transfers.
Common Use Cases on ApeChain
- NFT minting and trading
- ApeCoin ecosystem apps
- Games and consumer apps
- Yield-bearing bridged assets
