BitTorrent Chain (BTTC) is an EVM-compatible proof-of-stake sidechain from the TRON ecosystem that connects TRON, Ethereum and BNB Chain. BTT is its gas and staking token.

About BitTorrent Chain

BTTC mainnet launched in December 2021. Its proof-of-stake design has three layers: staking contracts deployed on TRON, a Tendermint-based Delivery layer of validators, and the EVM-compatible Bttc block-producer layer. Validators periodically publish checkpoints, Merkle roots of recent blocks, to TRON, Ethereum and BNB Chain.

Developers can use standard Ethereum tooling and JSON-RPC against chain ID 199. Assets reach BTTC through its cross-chain bridge from TRON, Ethereum and BNB Chain, so apps often index both the BTTC side and the source chain to track deposits and withdrawals.
