BOB RPC Endpoint
Flat-rate BOB RPC provider and BOB RPC node access: free tier, no KYC, HTTP. BOB mainnet chain ID 60808.
https://rpc.swiftnodes.io/rpc/bob?key=YOUR_API_KEYBOB (Build on Bitcoin) is an Ethereum layer 2 built on the OP Stack that targets Bitcoin DeFi, with ETH as its gas token. Its product focus is the BOB Gateway, which moves BTC and stablecoins into and out of BOB and other chains.

BOB developer facts, measured
- Block time:
- ~2 s (average of the last 1,000 blocks)

- the finalized tag trails the head by ~980 blocks (~33 min)
- eth_getLogs range:
- 50,000-block ranges accepted (the largest we test)
- Historical state:
- readable at least 1,000,000 blocks back

About BOB
BOB launched its mainnet in May 2024 as an optimistic rollup on the OP Stack. In July 2025 it moved to the Kailua hybrid fault-proof system that uses ZK proofs, but in September 2026 it withdrew from Kailua after derivation bugs and returned to a permissioned dispute game, according to L2BEAT. Its published roadmap includes a BitVM-based bridge for native BTC.
For RPC users BOB behaves like other OP Stack chains: standard Ethereum JSON-RPC, Solidity contracts and EVM tooling work unchanged. Sequencing is handled by a single centralized sequencer, and L1 finality follows the OP Stack model of batches posted to Ethereum.
Common Use Cases on BOB
- BTC-denominated DeFi lending and swaps
- Bridging BTC and stablecoins via BOB Gateway
- Porting existing OP Stack/EVM contracts
- Bitcoin yield vaults

Frequently Asked Questions: BOB
What is the BOB chain ID?
The BOB mainnet chain ID is 60808 (0xed88).
What is the gas token on BOB?
ETH. BOB is an OP Stack rollup on Ethereum, so fees are paid in ETH even though the ecosystem is focused on BTC assets.
What proof system does BOB use?
BOB ran the Kailua hybrid ZK fault-proof system from July 2025, but per L2BEAT it reverted to a permissioned dispute game in September 2026, so state validation currently relies on permissioned proposers and challengers.
