World Chain RPC Endpoint
Flat-rate World Chain RPC provider and World Chain RPC node access: free tier, no KYC, HTTP & WebSocket. World Chain mainnet chain ID 480.
https://rpc.swiftnodes.io/rpc/worldchain?key=YOUR_API_KEYwss://rpc.swiftnodes.io/ws/worldchain?key=YOUR_API_KEYWorld Chain is an Ethereum layer 2 built on the OP Stack by World (formerly Worldcoin) and is part of the Optimism Superchain. It uses ETH for gas and reserves part of each block for transactions from verified World ID holders.

- Block time:
- ~2 s (average of the last 1,000 blocks)
- Finality:
- the finalized tag trails the head by ~637 blocks (~21 min)
- Historical state:
- readable at least 1,000,000 blocks back

About World Chain
World Chain mainnet went live in October 2024 as an OP Stack rollup that posts its data to Ethereum as blobs. Its distinguishing feature is Priority Blockspace for Humans (PBH): a share of every block is reserved for transactions signed by World ID holders, so verified users are not competing with bots for inclusion during congestion.
It behaves like other OP Stack chains: standard EVM and Solidity tooling, ETH for gas, and the usual OP Stack RPC surface. The ecosystem centers on apps that verify users with World ID, such as World App mini apps, grant claims and sybil-resistant airdrops.
Common Use Cases on World Chain
- World App mini apps
- World ID proof-of-human verification
- WLD grant claims and distributions
- Sybil-resistant airdrops and voting

Frequently Asked Questions: World Chain
What is the World Chain chain ID?
World Chain mainnet uses chain ID 480 (hex 0x1e0).
What is the gas token on World Chain?
ETH. World Chain is an OP Stack rollup that settles to Ethereum and uses ETH for gas.
What is Priority Blockspace for Humans?
PBH reserves a portion of each block's gas for transactions signed by World ID holders. At its mainnet launch the reserved share was 50 percent of the block gas limit, with a per-human limit on priority transactions per epoch.
