What eth_gasPrice does

Returns the node's suggested gas price in wei for a legacy (type 0) transaction. On EIP-1559 chains it is usually the current base fee plus a suggested tip, which can sit well above what transactions actually pay.

Should you use it?

eth_gasPrice (0.1021 gwei) was below the base fee plus the median tip paid (0.1700 gwei). A legacy transaction at that price pays less tip than most and can wait longer when blocks are busy; set maxPriorityFeePerGas from eth_feeHistory if inclusion time matters.
