Method reference
debug_traceCall
Executes an eth_call-style message without mining it and returns a full execution trace — opcodes, stack, memory, and gas step by step. It is the standard tool for debugging why a call reverts and for profiling exactly where gas goes.
Part of the debug namespace, which node operators frequently gate or disable for cost reasons — support varies widely between chains and providers, which is exactly why we probe it weekly instead of listing it as a maybe.
