eth_getProof

EIP-1186 Merkle Patricia proofs for an account: balance, nonce, code hash, storage root, and (for requested keys) storage values — together with the proof nodes needed to verify all of it against the block's state root.

The building block for trust-minimized reads: light-client-style verification, zk circuits, and cross-chain proof systems use it to prove account state without trusting the node that served the data. Reading historical state requires archive access (append &archive=1 on paid plans).
