Method reference
Archive access
Not a method — a routing capability. Standard endpoints prune old state; archive nodes keep all of it, so you can query balances, receipts, logs, and proofs pinned to old blocks. On SwiftNodes, append &archive=1 to any HTTP request to route to archive-flagged upstreams (included on all paid plans).
The table below shows which chains have archive routing verified by probing historical state at a very old block.
Example request
curl -s https://rpc.swiftnodes.io/rpc/eth?key=YOUR_API_KEY&archive=1 \
-X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"eth_getBalance","params":["0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000","0x1"]}'Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your SwiftNodes key (free tier available).
